Silverthorne Pavilion Wedding | Kailee + Stefan

For a wedding with “altitude”, we are heading to beautiful Silverthorne, Colorado for the wedding of Kailee and Stefan.  Their Silverthorne Pavilion Wedding is elegant amidst the woodsy surroundings and breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains.

They start their day getting ready at the Quality Inn and Suites in Silverthorne.   Kailee’s gown is an ivory, A-line lace dress with a stunning beaded belt.  Her bridesmaids wear dusty blue gowns made of chiffon with bateau necklines.  Each carries a bouquet of soft-colored field flowers.

The ceremony is in a expansive field, just down from the Silverthorne Pavilion, next to the Blue River. On every side of us there is gorgeous greenery of the surrounding woods and the big open Colorado sky.  The views of the snow-capped mountains in the background are breathtaking.  Since they love cycling, there are added touches of vintage bicycles around the field and the pavilion.  We likewise take their just married portraits in this natural setting and near a rustic, old cabin.

The ballroom at the Silverthorne Pavilion is simple, yet very elegant.  It has high, wood-beamed ceiling and nature themed lighting.  Kailee and Stefan decorate their guests tables with white tablecloths and dainty touches of wildflower vases and aspen tree candles.  Their bicycle theme is interwoven in their cake topper, beer glasses and a bicycle wheel rim full of photographs of their life together.

Everyone enjoys an evening of dancing.  Kailee and Stefan ended their night with a private dance, but then invited their guests back inside the Pavilion for one more final group dance.

Sirata Beach Resort Wedding | Josh + Amy

The Sirata Beach Resort in St.Petersburg, Florida is known for gorgeous beach weddings.  The white, sandy beaches along the Gulf Mexico became the perfect setting for Josh and Amy’s special day, “for two people professing how much they love one another”.

The day begins with their first look.  While Josh stands on the beach with a smile of anticipation on his face, Amy approaches and gently taps his shoulder.  His reaction of seeing Amy for the first time was priceless!

Their ceremony was held outside on a beautiful St. Petersburg sandy beach.  The monochromatic look of soft grays and white contrasted with the nautical blues was a delight to photograph.  Amy’s bouquet, designed by 2 Birds Events, was gorgeous, made up of gerber daisies, garden roses, ranunculus, blue delphinium and succulents.  To help their guests enjoy the ceremony, each guest was provided with sunglasses, sunscreen, and a popsicle!

The reception in the Majestic Ballroom of the Sirata Beach Resort, was full of aqua and blue nautical details.  Amy’s mother put her heart into creating the table centerpieces of sand, seashells, and starfish.  Guests were invited to share a thought or write a message in beautiful, little notebooks created by the Wedding Paper Divas. Amy and Josh can read them on their wedding anniversaries.  The dessert was a delightful array of cupcakes, “because cupcakes are delicious”.

This wedding was “basically, a lot of dancing, a lot of laughing, a lot of fun to be had by everyone!”

Anastasia Park + White Room Wedding | Chris + Emily

Chris and Emily wanted a quiet, sunrise ceremony with their family.  Their Anastasia Park ceremony was just that.  This coastal treasure nestled next to St. Augustine, Florida was a perfect setting for their beautiful ceremony.

The ceremony is simple, yet stunning on the pristine beach, with close family observing.  Marriage portraits are taken along the sprawling beach with reflections of the shimmering water and warm sunlight or the Bridge of Lions in the background.  We also venture to the historic, “Oldest House” in St. Augustine to photograph them around the beautiful, Spanish colonial structures.

Chris and Emily’s reception was held at The White Room Grand Ballroom.  It’s another classic venue to photograph with its breathtaking views of the bay.  Each guest entered the ballroom and received their lighthouse drink coaster with their assigned table number on it.  Vibrant floral arrangements and floating candles decorate the tables in simple elegance.

Instead of a main wedding cake, Emily and Chris chose an assortment of delectable cakes.  Guests also enjoyed an array of chocolates and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

Their guests line up along an outside street to usher Chris and Emily away with a grand sparkler exit.

Walt Disney World Wedding Pavilion | Elizabeth + Scott

For two lovers of all things the mouse and Star Wars, choosing the Walt Disney World Wedding Pavilion and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to begin their happily ever after was a perfect choice.  Elizabeth and Scott’s unique wedding with its Disney classic love stories and Star Wars touches was a delight to photograph.

Elizabeth gets ready for her big day at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.  She is wearing a Justin Alexander, ivory and silver A-line ball gown from The Bridal Collection.  It has lots of crystals and beading in what she calls “beautiful chaos”.   Her four attendants are in various styles of blush pink, chiffon gowns.  Each carries beautiful bouquets of pink roses and baby’s-breath.

The ceremony, at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion, is situated on its own private island on Seven Seas Lagoon.  It certainly has a romantic feel, evident in the Victorian spires, vaulted ceilings, and arched windows.  While they are saying their vows, Cinderella’s Castle is in perfect view behind them.  Since the best man “forgot” to bring the wedding rings, Disney’s Major Domo saves the day by bringing the rings to the alter on a silk pillow, nestled in a glass slipper.  The marriage portraits are taken throughout the beautiful gardens and grounds of the Wedding Pavilion.

Their Star Wars themed reception was a thrill to photograph.  Especially creative are the centerpieces designed by Elizabeth and Scott.  Guests sit at tables named after a different Star Wars planet.  Everyone was surprisingly delighted when R2D2 and two Storm Troopers came in for a visit.  Their incredible cake, in a galaxy of its own, has an Imperial Star Destroyer on it surrounded by TIE Fighters.  It’s topped with “I Love You to the DEATHSTAR and Beyond”.

After enjoying much dancing, Elizabeth and Scott send their guests away with Storm Trooper mouse ears.  May the 4th be with them in their new life journey.

Mission Inn Wedding | Matt + Lauren

Lauren and Matt were hoping for a relaxed and romantic wedding day.   The Mission Inn wedding venue was just what they were looking for surrounded by grand cypress trees, covered in hanging Spanish moss and a beautiful view of Lake Harris.

It was very important to them for their first look to be natural and in-the-moment.  We shot this intimate moment on a bridge with Lauren walking up to Matt.

They decided on an outdoor ceremony under the shade of a mighty cypress tree and with a view of Lake Harris.  For a guest book, all in attendance signed the couple’s Love Letter, the letter “T”, to commemorate Matt and Lauren’s new life together.   Lauren wore a stunning white, mermaid-style gown with a lace overlay from Calvet Couture Bridal.  Her attendants were in shades of slate blue and blush pink chiffon gowns.

The reception, held at Mission Inn’s Marina del Rey, has a casual, rustic feel to it.  The tables are decorated with shimmering candles, floral centerpieces with splashes of the blue and pink and a cake pop favor box for each guest.     Their band, which Matt plays the djembe drum with, is “chill and soulful”.  “Love was in the air” as Matt and Lauren and their guests danced.  The night ends with their guests ushering them out to a sparkler exit.
